Error message when attempt to open MS-Word doc stored in MS-Access database

Carol Kavanaugh

Backend database to store Microsoft Word documents is
Access, although MS-Access is not installed on the IIS
server which is Windows2000 server just the db file.

The IIS server publishes via Virtual Directory/website
these documents (retrieved from MS-Access database) on
Intranet (i.e. internal website) to employees.

When someone attempts to open one of the posted Word
documents, receive this error:

Database Results Error
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error
Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN
for process 0x134 Thread 0x6b0 DBC 0x1f54474 Jet'.

Any and all assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Carol,
I am assuming you are using ASP on your IIS server?
If yes, then the Web page that is accessing Access database should contain
an ODBC to your Access database?
The IIS server publishes via Virtual Directory/website
these documents (retrieved from MS-Access database) on
Intranet (i.e. internal website) to employees.
The question is: how IIS server extracting the information from MS Access
database?
Check the link.
