Error message trying to import a .pst file

I'm trying to import from another file/folder a .pst that was copied to a CD.
I get the following error message:

<Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use>

a) do NOT import.
b) copy the file to your HDD, remove any read-Only attribute, and then in
Outlook go to File-Open-Outlook data file and navigate to where you copied
the file.
