Error message -- ongoing problem

For the passed several months, maybe a few times a week, I will get a
repetitive error message that states:
**********************************************************
(This is the "headliner" of the window):
Error: IEXPLORE.EXE - Application Error
|X|

(This is the body of the error message):
The instruction at "0x027f3e82" referenced memory at "0x028722a0". The
memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
________
| OK |
**********************************************************
When I said repetitive, I meant that when I do click "OK" the error message
comes right back, stating the same exact thing. The entire error message is
the same -- except for the numerical/alpha "codes" in the quotation marks --
every time this occurs on my computer. I am hoping that someone will know
what this means and how to put a stop to it, because what I end up doing each
time this happens, is either log off and/or restart the computer; it gets to
be very aggravating. I would really appreciate someone's help. Thank you.

I included an actual "copy" of the most recent error message that occurred
(today, 10-11-05):

Hi,
It's likely that another program, probably malware, is causing this problem.

Start by running BHODemon 2.0 from
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm The offender may simply be a
BHO. With IE6 [XP] SP2, go to Tools> Manage add-ons to disable BHOs.

Then you will want to run Ad-aware, Spybot and (if running WinXP) MS
Anti-Spyware (Beta.)

You may have to post a HijackThis log to one of these forums for additional
help. Look for the proper forum and an "Important- Read This First" message
so that you follow proper procedure.

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security,
toolbars and other add-ons for IE, anti-virus, etc. Take a look at any
program that might be interfering with IE. You may have to reinstall, or not
reinstall, a program.
