I received an error message at startup and I am not sure what it means....

c:windows\system32\jojim\sv.dll

If anyone knows what this means can you please help me?

It's hard to say what this sv.dll file is but I can't seem to find any
info on what program owns it. It can be downloaded and manually
replaced.

It would have been helpful if you had included what the error message
actually was.

Assuming that it's something along the lines of "Can not find
c:windows\system32\jojim\sv.dll" it means that you have some application
(could be malware, could be something legitimate) that's attempting to
start but can't find one of its components.

Do you have a c:windows\system32\jojim\ directory? If so, take a look at
other files in that directory and see if they give a clue as to what
application it is.

Otherwise, go to Start > Run and type "msconfig" (without quotes) and
click OK. Click the "Startup" tab and see if there's a reference to
jojim or sv there. If you find such an entry, post back with further
information.

infection in the form of add-ons, dlls and browser hijackware..etc.

Why exactly would the error message come up in the first place?
It is actually coming up on my boss's computer and she would like to know
why, because she has not done anything different other than downloading AVG.
Any imput would help...

Hi Dawn,
There are lots of viruses going around these days in the shape of
attachments, download in the background while surfing the internet, through
software installation..etc.

You can pick a virus embedded through an image sent to you by email!!!

What happen exactly is something been detected by AVG on scan and
disinfected but some orphans left behind which managed to to create a key on
start up in the registry as always malicious viral infection will do to take
control on the user machine and avoid been detected by the Anti-virus!
When AVG disinfected the machine didn't remove the orphans entries in the
Registry which been read by the system on boot up and causing the system to
issue the error message to alert you there is a program corrupted/damaged to
taken action to solve the problem which in this case removing the entry and
making sure the machine free from other viruses/malware may present on your
system.

If you need further help you can send me your hijackthis log, if all sorted
but been puzzled with why this happen, hope the above cleared it for you.

Dawn, Your issue is a prime example of why good registry cleaners are
needed. Don't listen to the others who say registry cleaners are "snake
oil". To fix your issue automatically, download CCleaner from here
http://www.ccleaner.com/ install it and when you run it select the registry
icon on the left to clean your registry. Let it fix all but choose to backup
when prompted. Your problem should then be fixed.
