error message not a valid win32 application

When i installed the microsoft office pro edition 2003 the files i/e data
bases and spreadsheets from microsoft works the files are there which are
..wdb etc, but when i try to access them , i get a message that .wdb is not a
valid win 32 application access wont let me open them, help !
