My first computer is routed to a second, new computer

I'm getting a exasperating message on my second computer's Windows Mail when
I try to use it:

Is there an AntiVirus application setup to scan your email in this picture
anywhere?

Either you are entering the wrong username/password, or else that
account is corrupted. One thing you might try as a possible quick fix
is to delete that corrupted account, restart Windows Mail, then
recreate that mail account. If that doesn't fix it, more drastic
measures will have to be taken.

That type of account corruption is often caused by interference from
a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem,
consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from overly aggressive antivirus programs.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

Yes, Hall, there is:

I have Norton Symantec as a firewall, not Windows firewall.

The error message you're getting is common to either misset security
credentials (bad username, password, SSL incorrect, etc.) or to an AntiVirus
email scanner running amok. If you are using Norton AntiVirus and it is set
to scan your email, you've probably found the culprit. Norton is the
biggest offender of all A/V applications when it comes to preventing email
flow for no good reason. If this matches your setup, uninstall Norton, run
their debris removal tool to remove all the crud the uninstaller leaves
behind, then do a custom re-install without any email scanning
features/services/modules. Email scanning is redundant, it does nothing but
create problems where none exist otherwise, and your system is still fully
protected without it, provided you keep the resident file system scanner up
to date.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

"Ty McConnell, a new user of Word 7."

In that case, see my earlier response.
Norton is a known problem for Windows Mail.
