JavaScript is not related to Java, so downloading and installing the JVM
won't do anything.

You need to make sure you have "active scripting" enabled for your browser.

Hi there,
I have found out how to "Enable Active Scripting" in internet options, but I

The Java is a plugin for Internet Explorer. You don't need to open it,
whenever you access a website that needs this plugin, it will automatically
display and java applets on the website.

Tom is correct, you may need to enable the scripting in Internet Explorer.
In Internet Explorer, click Tools/Internet Options/Security Tab/Custom Level
Button. Scroll down to the "Scripting" section and set all 3 of those
options to "Prompt". The next time you try to access a part of a website
that has a script, you should see a pop-up dialog box asking if you want to
let this script run.

Internet Options - Security page, Highlight Internet Zone and click
Custom Level. Work down to the Scripting section and set all three
subsections on Enable
