Error Message - Is there any way to resolve it?

I recently downloaded a language translation dictionary to my hard drive.
When I went to run the file, I got the error message, "(software execute
file) is not a valid Win32 application".

I'm not a computer expert (not even close!) and don't really understand the
"32" and "64" applications". Is there anything I can do to fix this and run
the program?

Thanks for any help you can give!

This message can actually mean that the file is corrupt. Try downloading
it again. If the problem persists, see if there is another source for the
file.

If the application you downloaded is a "Win64" file, than your Windows XP
cannot run it unless you have Windows XP proffesional 64x edition. You have
to find the "win 32" version of the file you want to run.

Get CCleaner program on the web. Go to Tools on the left, then Startup.
Look for the programs in the list that are causing the problem and
permanently delete them. Restart your computer and it should solve the
problem.

Mtn Lady, This is regarding the error, C:\PROG~1\UNINST~1.DLL, not this
latest error. I was getting this error also.
