I'm having a problems printing to a USB printer (Roland
PC-12). Error message: "Cannot open port"

I get this message when the user is setup as a "power user"
group. If I change him to administrator is works fine.

I contacted Roland and they said it's windows that's
causing my problem. I have the printer set up to be shared
and I can't seem to find anything about sharing the USB
port or what to change in the power user settings.

What can I do to allow this power user group to print to
this USB printer?

Looks like there is driver component that needs to be installed per user; I
don't know the solution but I can offer two workarounds;

1. Promote the user to the Administrators group and have him print to it.
Demote him after it starts working.

2. Have the user print to the share name, i.e. \\computer\sharedprinetrname
..

BTW, the vendor should correct the issue if they claim to be XP logo
compliant.
