error message: ... 0040cd67 referended memory ...

I try to start the disney game The lion king , but it causes the message : The instruction at 0040cd67 referenced memory at ffffffff. The memory could not be read from. Can anybody say, what or where is something wrong. Does that code identify the reason of termination. I have windows XP and I have tried all possible (that I know) compatibility acts (the program is win 95 game)

Hi Kimmo,

The code is refering to locations in memory, and does not directly indicate
the source of the error. What it means is that the program code is trying to
access an invalid or inaccessible memory location (possibly one that is
reserved for the system). It may simply be that the game will not run under
WinXP. Have you checked with support for the game to see if there is a patch
available?
