Installation of WinZip from the internet seems to have corrupted something in Win XP. At start up, I get this error message (I have MS Works 2000 installed on my laptop and use the Word Processor to create documents): "SPRINGFIELD_ADV_DAEMON: WksCal.exe-entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL". When I click on OK, the message disappears, and my computer seems to work fine, except that no one can open documents that I email to them that are created in MS Works 2000 Word Processor. I then tried installing the Corel Word Perfect software that came with my Dell laptop and no one can open documents created in this program either. I even tried emailing the Corel doc. to my wife's web mail address, and opening it on this same laptop in which the doc. was created. It cannot open it. It's there, in the email, as an attachment, but cannot be opened. Any and all help would be very much appreciated. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Works 2000 without success many times. I tried a repair install 2 times without success. I ran a virus scan with Norton and AVG and don't have a virus. The error mess. still pops up every time I start up, after one or two icons appear in the taskbar. Thanks for any help, folks.

It's a dumb question, but do the folks you send those documents to have
the applications installed to be able to open them? If not ...

Try emailing the attachments to yourself and see if you can open them.

Outlook Express by default will refuse to allow access to most
attachments. That can be changed with a setting in the Options.

As to your error message, check the vendor on that .dll file and then
hazard a guess as to which application that belongs to. I find that my
copy of msdart.dll is "Microsoft Data Access - OLE DB Runtime Routines"
which could be related to MS Office Access database or ... wkscal sounds
like it could be Works Calculator or Works Calendar. Either way, it
sounds like you might need to repair your MS Works install.
