Error installing FP 2000

G

gary

I am running Windows xp HE and Office 2000 Professional.

Frontpage 2000 used to work, but now I get error reports. After the first
"send report," I updated Office. When reinstalling/repairing FP2000 I
continually get the eerror message "Unable to access configuration for
Microsoft Personal WEb Server."

Any advice?

You need to do a custom install and not install PWS as it's not
supported in XP.

Just ignore/cancel the message about the PWS when doing the repair.

Cancelling/ignoring the message didn't do any good. FP still doesn't run and
I get the "send error report" message.

There *is* no option for PWS in FP on Windows XP Home. If you want a web
server on your local machine, you need Windows XP Pro, which has IIS 5.1 web
server.

I get the error message if I run a repair, and then if I cancel/ignore it, FP/Office 2000 will
re-install/repair without any problems.
