There is no way for us to answer you with so little information about
the system. If this is the same computer you posted about losing
profiles/user data, it is quite possible you have hardware failure. Or
you could have a severely infected Windows installation. Since you
requested no "technical talk", I'll give you a few troubleshooting links
but you should really just take the machine to a qualified computer
professional or have that person come on-site to look at the machine.
The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?
The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?
