error in directx files

I can only get sound on my desktop games I have windows media player 9 I have found a error in my DirectX files as follows:failure at step 19 (user verification of software): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code) what does this mean what do I do to fix it. All my plugs and settings are ok

Have you tried reinstalling / upgrading DirectX?
