error Extracting files from Win2000 CD

I have been trying to extract a file from my win2kpro cd,
to replace a faulty svchost.exe file.

It states this is an unrecognized command.
This is my first win2000pro OS, and I'm a bit confused.
Extract works in win98, but not win2000?
How can I replace a bad file, if I cannot extract it?

Try the command available in Windows 2000:
expand
