Error Downloading Patch for Blaster Worm

I am currently running Windows 2000 Professional on my
laptop and have tried downloading the patch to stop
Blaster Worm infecting my system. An error message has
occured during download:

"KB823980 - SETUP ERROR

Setup has detected that the version of service pack
installed on your system is lower than what is necessary
to apply this fix.

At minimum you must have service pack 2 installed".

Not being that computer literate how do I go about getting
the necessary service pack? And is it necessary that I
have the patch as I already have Norton Internet Security
2002 installed on my laptop?
 
Go to windows update and install SP4. After that install ms03-026. Antivirus
is not going to prevent this msblast-worm, so yes you need to install
ms03-026.
