Error deleting a registry Key

When I try to manually delete a key -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DeterministicNetworks, I got
the message "Cannot delete DeterministicNetworks: Error
while deleting key". When I try to open one of the keys
under that key DNE\Parameters, it gives a message "Cannot
open Parameters: Error while opening key.".

I would appreciate if someone can let me know how to
delete the key so that I can reinstall the software.

Sound like an application or the system has a handle open to the key you are
deleting. Reboot and the regsitry key should be gone
