Error databse

can someboby help me with the folowing problem ?

I have an access 2000 database.Size : 45 mb
Recently i cannot open the database .I get the following
error:
"This database is in an unexpected state:Microsoft access
can't open it."

I tried to do a compact and repair but the database
doesn't respond when i look in the task manager.

I also tried to retrieve the data by importing the tables
in a blanc database.I get the "unexpected state" error.

I tried decompiling the database from start-> run still no
success.

Can somebody help me with this problem ?
