Power off computer, disconnect battery, locate the CMOS pin on board, move
the pin from 1-2 to 2-3 position for 30 seconds or so,then back to 1-2
position,
replace battery, start computer. You'll need to reset BIOS date, time, etc, plus
any add-on cards installed.

Did you, in fact, open your computer to see if your CPU fan (in fact ALL
fans) is spinning when you start up the computer? If the CPU cooling fan is
not starting reliably, each and every time you start your computer, you can
destroy the CPU.

This isn't likely a windows SP2 issue since you are getting the msg
during POST, so you want to make sure that the CPU fan hasn't
actually failed otherwise the CPU will get fried.
Remove the side panel from the chassis and make sure all the fans
are spinning, whilst in there clean out any dust from the heatsinks
etc.
BTW you can hit the pause key during POST to read the onscreen
text.

Sounds like a hardware issue. That's a message from the BIOS - open the
case and check the fans. This isn't an XP OS issue.

Um, why do you not address the error message? Simply resetting the BIOS will
not resolve the problem of a failed cpu fan. Nor would it be necessary if
the problem is correctly addressed.

First off, it will not stop the error message if the fan has truly failed,
and second you might want to mention that it is critical to replace the
failing fan IMMEDIATELY.

The installation of SP2 was just a coincidence. Replace the defective
fan before attempting to use the computer.

Are you intentionally giving bad advice, unbelievably stupid, or some
combination thereof?

Would you care to explain just how, precisely, those completely
irrelevant actions will magically replace the defective fan being
clearly reported?

I'm trying to imagine what you get out of posting nonsense. Need
attention?

It is not related to Windows XP. You have a hardware problem. If the
BIOS does not detect the fan running then it gives the message. The
sensor in the fan may have failed the third wire from the fan may be
broken or the motherboard or BIOS may have a defect. But it IS NOT
Windows XP. Contact the motherboard manufacturer.

All of cpu fan are spinnig.Oh no....what can i do?Plz help me friends

Possibly the fan rpm sensor went south. OR the fan is still bad. Just
the sensor wire failed. Replace the CPU fan anyway.

If the fan sensor on the MB went out, I guess you'd at this point see
if there's an option in the bios to ignore the hardware monitoring. Or
just resign yourself to pressing F2.
