What soundcard do you have, on-board or a PCI card ? What were you doing at
the time ? What software did you install prior to this error occuring ? What
was the exact error and in which software - WMP but what version ?
Start by unistalling your soundcard drivers, re-booting and the
re-installing. Make sure your soundcard is recognised by WIndows . Re-post
if that doesn't work.
