error code 80245003

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? (code 80245003) Running Windows
Vista RC1 Build 5600 64-bit
Ever since my install on 11/29/06, havent been able to search for any new
updates.
Also running Windows Defender and get error code 0x80245003 when trying to
update definitions.

Hi,

Try the steps here, except when you go to open the cmd prompt, right click
it and use "run as administrator":
