I neet to install XP SP2. I don't have a proxy but I do have a firewall in
the LAN. How do I install the update? Do I need to temporarly shut off
firewall to install?

First of all, have you followed all of the instructions on preparing your
system for SP2?
Disconnect it completely from the network.
Disconnect all devices except the monitor, mouse, keyboard, CD-ROM, and
system disk.
