I started getting a message that states " Internet explorer has encountered a
problem and needs to close.Sorry for the inconveniance." asks if i want to
send an error report to microsoft and then shuts down. It's only affecting me
when i try to go to dallascowboys.com or stlcardinals.com. I've been able to
go onto other nfl & mlb sights & hasn't affected any other sights that my
family or i use.The error code is what i got when i looked for info and i
have more writen down if needed.i enjoy the articals on both sights and don't
want to give them up.Anything would be usefull. Thanks in advance.

Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove all Java or JRE items. Then go to
Java.com and get the latest runtimes, version 6 update 2. See if that fixes
it.

Well, there are security settings and security apps that can block Java, but
I'm at my limits of knowledge on this one. Hope someone else has more
detailed info. I'd post your query to the IE newsgroup:

I don't know if you saw my reply to you on 06/08/2007 or you lost track of
it?.
Well, what the error message?, please if the below steps did not help write
back with the exact wording of the error message.
If you get Memory Cannot be read or written. As the name refer to, it is a
memory problem, some applications/programs
didn't release the memory in timely fashion causing the Error to be thrown by
the system error reporting tools.
Also it could be the work of malware, badly written application installed
on your system including third party toolbars installed beside Internet
explorer, do you have other toolbars installed try to uninstall them, memory
gone bad or loose in their slots/dust also can cause this.
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.
How to manage Add-Ons:

2... You need to be sure your system is clean from malware and Viruses by
scanning for them
Scan for malware from here:

=How to perform a clean boot procedure to prevent background programs from
interfering with a game or a program that you currently use

3... You may have a bad RAM try to test your RAM by running Memtest by
downloading this tool and unzip it and make a floppy or CD/DVD and run it on
Reboot.
http://www.memtest86.com/
You may need to reposition/reset the RAM sticks in their slots.
If you still having problem see this from Gerry and Myself

Also the complete error message will be great help for us and you from the

Hi Wellgang,
I think you mean this Wininet.dll NOT wininet.DCL?.
Log into safe mode and locate this path:
C:\Windows\system32\wininet.dll <= Rename the wininet.dll to wininet.OLD,
then locate this path:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache = look in the right Pane//window for this file
wininet.dll, copy it to this path again:
C:\WINDOWS\System32
Reboot and see if your issue resolved.
If still then proceed with these steps:
But before this please scan from another vendor to get another opinion on
your system health, also for malware!.

Run a scan from here on-line:
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?productid=symhome&langid=ie&venid=sym
Download Avast Cleaner from here:

Error Message: Invalid Page Fault in Module Wininet.dll

You receive an access violation in Internet Explorer 6 SP1 when you use a
custom Web-based program over SSL
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/843613

If all fail try the System File checker:
Open a run command and type in:
sfc /scannow click [OK] you will need your XP installation media for this
operation.

If you still having problem, I will run the HijackThis, you may have a
malicious app running/ infecting your machine.

Download the Hijackthis and send the report to one of
many
forums for analysis and troubleshooting:
When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. Post
your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,
