Most likely cause is that you have comments in cells that are set
*not* to move with the cells or are out to the right in an area that
you would be hiding.

Move the cells comments so that they won't be in the hidden part of
the worksheet after you do the hide operation, and also make sure that
they are set to 'move' with the cells.

Alan.

Alan,

Is there an Excel function that can make comments 'Move' with the cells or
do i have to manually move them to ensure they're not opening up way to the
right, for example...b/c even by manually moving the comments, I can't seem
to get the columns to collapse & hide...thx again for your help.

You can select all the comments (Goto - Special - Comments) and change
the properties of them all like that I think.

You would have to do that manually for each sheet unless you tried to
code it in VBA somehow.

Alan.
