Error: "A script on this page is causing internet explorer to run slowly"

I am getting the following error message on virtually
every page change (from page to page within a URL or
between URL's) "a script on this page is causing internet
explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your
computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort
the script". Whether I press yes or no, there is no
apparent loss in functionality. Is there a fix for this?
Or do I have a virus? No virus detected by Norton.

Greg, I am getting the same thing. Have you had any luck
in correcting. I downloaded IE 6 service pack 1, did not
fix problem.
