Error 6118 - Workgroup Windows 2000 client

Hi all,

I have a Win2000 client which is in a workgroup. When I want to access
"computers near me" or even the "entire network" I always get this error
message: Error 6118 - The list of servers..... not currently available.
The strange thing is, it always worked correctly and I did'nt change any
network/NIC or whatever -settings.

Symptoms:
I can ping other PC's on the network, but not itself !
On other PC's when I ping, I get request time out.
I still have connection to internet (f.i.) through a gateway...
Computer browser service is running

make sure no firewall blocking the traffic and computer browser is running. this page may help,

Indeed it must have been the ports for file sharing.
