error 550 permission denied

I get this message when trying to upload my site to Demon
hosted web space. It just stops and will nto upload
anything. I have logged in correctly and it tells me that
there are soem files like "count" (page counter) on the
site already and if I want to remove them - I get teh
permission denied message whether I say yes or no to these.

What is error 550?
