ceci se produit depuis que j'ai effacé par erreur des fichiers d'une

en appuyant sur ANNULER.

Hello, everybody!
although I (mistakenly) wrote my initial message in French, the reason
I posted it on an English-speaking forum is that I live in England and
therefore have an English version of XP. Dealing with the description
of possible solutions to my problem is sometimes not straightforwaed.
For those of you who feel like tackling its linguistic niceties, go to
microsoft.public.fr.windowsxp where my message was also posted and
have a look at the answers given; you will no doubt be able to make
alternative suggestions as to how this problem of mine can be solved.
if you've got problems understanding it all tell me and I will, as
soon as I can, provide a summary of the suggestions made on the French
forum.
Thanks in advance,

Philippe

as somebody very helpful gives me lots of suggestions. Otherwise, I
will keep you posted and summarise what is being said. I would also
welcome alternative suggestions.

Thanks Phillpe for reply.I wish i could understand french. After a bit
of resarch i came to know that some installers create temporary files
and those file are created in temp directory. Same is the case with
some uninstallers. So those applications fail to work. Some how, i
guess, we have lost write permission on temp folder. I searched net
and i came across something like taking ownership of a folder. For
that you have to start your pc in safe mode and go to security tab on
properties of a folder. I did that but i didn't find any security
tab....So still my problem is unsolved.

I reported your query to the French website and this is the reply I
got:
first a search ...
www.google.co.uk/search?q=nhatquanglan
www.google.co.uk/search?q=nhatquanglan+error
didn't show any link between your virus and error 5.

This was followed by a more focussed search but the links I was sent
are broken. for info, here they are:
www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default.asp
www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default2.asp?m=q&virus=nhatquan...
www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_SOHANAD.BA
if you go back to the first search and click on the first link (http://
piyushlabs.wordpress.com/2007/10/16/solution-for-nhatquanglan-found/ )
you will be able to decide if you are indeed affected by the virus.

Well, my problem is now solved. The upshot of the discussion I carried
out on the French website is that tests should be done with firewall
and anti-virus tools being (one at a time) disabled or even
uninstalled.
my situation was that I had Comodo Firewall Pro and AVG. Uninstalling
Comodo enabled me to resume installing applications. Seems that
sofrtware auto updates that the user can't always control or a setting
which "restricts free movement" as it were, may be the cause of error
messages.
The bloke who helped me first directed me to
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix about
Combofix, a tool which as explained scanned my system and produced a
log file that I ran past someone in the know. That led him to give me
the advice described above
Careful! I also found this: "You should not be using Combofix unless
instructed to do so by a Malware Removal Expert. It is a powerful tool
intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision
of an expert", NOT for private use. Using this tool incorrectly could
lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as
preventing it from ever starting again."
Reading the forum guidelines at: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic34773.html
may also be enlightening as to what your next step should be.
