error 404, re-directs, cant open web pages

i have recently had many probs with several web pages re-
directing me to a error 404 page, then i have to restart
explorer before i can open any web page, i have turned
off all prozy settings and it still does it, what can i
do to fix it
 
You proabably have spyware on your machine which is
attempting to report your websites to a server that's
down. Go to download.com and download either Spybot or
Adaware and scan your computer to get rid of them.
