I am trying to upgrade from 98 to xp pro. I keep getting
this error message "Setup cannot continue. Contact
Microsoft Technical Support. (error 3E6h). Well we all
know there is no Microsoft Technical Support so I will
ask whoever has had this problem and found a solution. I
have followed the lighweight solutions on the Microsoft
web site and they do not work. Anyone got a suggestion as
to how to get around this?

OK, so apparently you work for Microsoft also, because
you gave no answer, only more runaround. Does anyone out
there know how to rectify this problem. ( and believe me
the answer is not in the Microsoft knowledge base)

Suggetion:

You most likely have lots of files in 'My Documents'
and/or Temporary Internet Files and/oror Desktop folder
structure.

Try the upgrade after moving all to another location other
than the drive you are trying to upgrade.

Only trying to help.
