Error 339 - duzactx.dll?

When attempting to run some software I recently installed I get the following
error:

Run-time Error 339:

Component 'duzactx.dll' or one of its dependancies not correctly registered:
a file is missing or invalid

Any help would be appreciated.

I did a quick Google for "duzactx.dll" and came up with this:

Since you didn't tell us the name of the Mystery Software you recently
installed, I can't guess why you are getting the error. From a practical
standpoint, I'd:

1) Do a Google search such as "name-of-mystery-program + duzactx.dll
missing"
2) Contact the tech support for the Mystery Software and ask them what
this means.

Malke's advice is spot-on (as usual). To add an explantory note: duzactx.dll
is not a Vista-supplied file. It is probably related to the software you
recently installed (about which you unfortunately did not give any details).

"Runtime Error 339" is not a Windows error message. Windows does have an
error number 339 ("MCIERR_SEQ_PORT_MAPNODEVICE"); but it doesn't seem
applicable here. So the error is coming from some software other than Vista
itself.

Sorry about that. I figured duzactx.dll was something XP provided, as this
software worked before I purchased my computer with Vista. The software is
"Davis's Drug Guide" for Nursing Students... I searched the web and didn't
find anything.

Again, any help would be appreciated.

Okay. lt looks like duzactx.dll is supplied by a company called Inner Media
Inc. It's software which is used as components to to build and run other
software. So the makers of the "Davis's Drug Guide" probably used some
software to develop their software, which uses Inner Media Inc's duzactx.dll
(got that?

In the first instance, I think you will need to contact the vendor of the
Davis's Drug Guide software: looks like it could be either FA Davis
themselves (see http://www.drugguide.com), or the version by SkyScape
(http://www.skyscape.com/estore/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductId=219).

For a possible quick fix, try setting the Compatibility to Windows 95 or NT
4.0 - right-click the main EXE file (or Start Menu Entry), choose
Properties, Compatibility, and check the "Run this program in Compatibility
mode" checkbox. I dunno for sure if that will help fix the problem, but it's
something quick and easy to try.
