Error 1717 Interface Unknown

I keep getting the error message Error 1717: Interface
Unknown, everytime I try to connect to the internet via
dial-up. I ahve all the latest Windows updates.

Any suggestions please.

What have you tried?
When does the error occur, and where?
Was is working before?
Are you using a router and/or firewall?
Are you a single user or networked?
Do you get a dial tone, can you dial?
Anything else you can tell us?
