Hi
I work in a training centre with 30+ PC's. (I teach MS Office.) All PC's
running XP Pro SP2 and MS Office 2003. All PC's are either Compaq or HP.
Some are 4+ years old, others are 12 months old.

At random times, a student will load an old Word document (or start a new,
blank document) and Windows reports "Error 1309", and it fails to load. Keep
clicking away at all the "OK" and "Close" prompts and the Word document
eventually loads. All future Word documents give the same problem. (Never
happens with Excel, Access etc.)

Put the original Office CD in the PC, and re-install Office, and it finds
errors, and fixes them. Fine - but a week or a month later, the Error 1309
problem will re-appear. Some PC's seem more prone to the problem, but it
does seem random. It certainly happens to new and old PC's alike.

The PC's do not have an internet connection, and no CD's or floppy disks are
brought in by the students - so there's no chance of the students corrupting
them. (They wouldn't know how to - anyway.)

Any ideas how I can fix this problem - permanently?

Regards

Thanks Cindy - seems like a possibility.

But how did you set it up to remove user profiles?

Thanks in advance.

Cindy is currently out of town and asked the rest of us to cover for her.
Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to this, but perhaps someone else who
does will respond.
