Hi

When I try to open IE6 I get an error:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)

Outlook Express also fails to open with
MSiIMN.exe generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need
to restart the program.

Using Windows 2000 SP4

I am getting the same error. I suspect a virus caused it but even though I
have cleaned to virus I still can't open IE. I'm also running Win2000 SP4

I have the same error message. I have removed ie6 through the control panel
and now cannot even reinstall it. :(

I too have this error when opening IE. I am running Windows 2000 v5.0, SP4.
Is there any solution posted for this?

Seems to be a somewhat common problem I am also experiencing but
unfortunately there is no answer here YET!

I had already run sfc and this didn.t work for me . Method 2 has worked
in that I can now run IE but still have the problem with Outlook Express.

Many thanks.

ps - if you are running sfc in Win2k you should click Start,Run and type
in 'cmd'. Place the Win2k CD in the drive. In the DOS window type 'sfc
/scannow' and ENTER. It doesn't ask for the CD but anything that needs
repairing gets copied.
