Error 0x8024402c

This is the error message I receive when I try to update my newly installed
Windows Defender:
"Windows Defender was unable to update: 0x8024402c"
I would appreciate any suggestions.

Please go to Windows(or Microsoft) Update, do an express scan, and apply all
offered critical updates.

Once this completes, and you've restarted (if needed)--then open Windows
Defender, and do Help, about, check for updates--and see if that process (it
takes some time)--completes without error.

This works fine by me. I had the same problem. It happened when i reinstalled
Defender. From that time on it was not possible to update new signatures.
You're advice maked it work again. Thanks
