I did do the custom for avast! and unchecked the boxes for the mail check. I
have finally given in and got the Windows Live, and it installed and
certainly transferred all my mail from cox.net just fine! So, all of my ports
and all of that stuff was ok. I sorta smell a rat cause when it is too good
to be true it usually is~ I did ALL of the things that the techs on here told
me to do and NOTHING worked. I went to webpages and googled this error many
many times and tried everything to no avail. The only thing that did not work
was the toolbar for windows live mail, and maybe at a later time that will
work. It sure is hard to see some of the background on their top bar with all
the blue and dark blue~I will have to figure out all that stuff. THANK YOU
EVERYONE THAT TRIED TO HELP ME~I was a desperate fool at the end of his rope!
I did not have google toolbar or google something else and the sms thing
either. I seriously tried ALL (except safe mode) Through my entire thread in
here~and did all of them! I find it weird that magically poof when I
downloaded live all my cox mail instantly appeared out of nowhere, and I have
been using OE since 1999 and windows mail 1 year. So my port numbers and all
that was A~ok. Once again Thanks ALL helpers mine was just a toughie I
suppose. Microsoft used to respond and try and help and this case I could get
nothing from them(so strange) Bless you ALL!:)

Glad to hear that switching to WLM fixed your problem.
You've made a good investment in the future since Windows Mail
is a dead end.
