Erratic scrolling

Since re-installing XP due to a seperate issue the scrolling and dragging of
windows and pages etc appears to be very jerky and erratic.
I have viewed the various options etc in the control panel for the mouse and
have to date found nothing that appears to cure the problem.
I am also using a cordless mouse and in this instance the problem is nothing
to do with dirt etc on the rollers of the mouse.
I would therefore appreciate any advice on the matter as the scrolling was
working fine until the OS was re-installed.

Install the most recent drivers for your video card and see if that
fixes things. Get the drivers from the device mftr.'s website. If that
doesn't fix things, do the same with the mouse drivers (assuming it
isn't a standard mouse).

It could be the mouse and video drivers fighting for control.
Right click on a blank area of the desktop, choose Properties | Settings
| Advanced | Troubleshoot. Move the Hardware acceleration slider to
the left one notch and see if that helps. If not try moving it more.
If it takes more than one notch and that fixes it, then update the video
and mouse drivers.

I doubt that will fix his driver issue. If anything it will re-install the same driver

In addtion to the other advice already given:

Replace the battery in the mouse.

Re-orient the tranciever in case it is positioned near other equiment
that may be interfering with the signal.

Try a different mouse to eliminate an OS problem.
