I have the same problem (had) with my Aspire. I ditched the touchy touch
pad and got a notebook mouse (Logitech V450 laser) works great now. No
more problems. I keep a 9x12 1/8 inch thick plexiglass sheet under my
notebook in the case. works well on my car seat when I'm traveling too.

I have acursor which flies back and forth up and down when typing,I do
not use a mouse nor do I touch the pad,I use mindows xp, any help
appreciated I have been tryin for ages,I am not good on computers,Anton

Due respect, an' all, this only ever happens on laptops with touchpads.

Whether you know it or not, you are generating a 'click' event from the
touchpad, which moves the insertion point to wherever the pointer is
hovering.

Try going into the settings for the touchpad and reducing its sensitivity.
It's the only thing I can suggest.
