Equation Editor not installed??

I have windows XP with Microsoft Office Pro version from the university I
attend. I can't find Equation Editor. Has been going on for weeks. Dell
support spent 6 hours and couldn't get it to come in Word or anywhere. It
shows in the Office tools in the control panel add/remove programs but on
updating again it is not there. I am going to flunk math, can't turn in
assignments and spending hours looking for this. Dell sold me with Windows
XP edition with computer and I also bought from them the Student/teacher
office 2003 and had to download it from a disc. I have installed and
reinstalled via Dell support with rep controlling cursor, always the same I
don't think it's installed, call Microsoft, then Microsoft isn't any help as
won't help without a fee. So removed the student teacher version and
installed the free upgrade from the univeristy and no different. Please
help, I have no clue on this nor does the support at Dell. I have to turn in
my math homework, please.

You've now been asked at least twice: Can you confirm that Microsoft
Equation 3.0 is not listed under Insert | Object | Create New?

Yes, I perform the tasks as you stated and the highlight is there in the box
but is blank. There is no wording in the box where you are asked to
highlight your selection. The Dell reps would say that it's not installed
(equation editor) on my system, all 4 or 5 of them that I spoke with and they
interfaced with machine and still couldn't locate it. after repeated
installing and reinstalling the programs.

Okay, we've seen reports of this behavior before in connection with other
components. If you can figure out which is the Equation Editor and
double-click on it, it would probably work correctly. Another alternative to
try is to put an Equation Editor button on your toolbar. Open Tools |
Customize and select the Commands tab. Select the Insert category and scroll
down to Equation Editor in the Commands list. Drag it to your Standard
toolbar. When you click on it, you should get an equation.

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!Hello, I found Equation editor it's in Microsoft Power
point and it's running fine there so I'll get some rest and figure out how to
get it to the other programs tomorrow. Thank you, I went to Office tools
from my All Programs and opened each one that said new program (as I have
reinstalled it) and opened each one then on Power Point decided to look and
there it was under the Insert tab then Object then it allowed me to select
Equation Editor 3.0 and had had other selections which aren't showing up in
the Word program or Excel. Thank you.

Well, I'm glad you found it, though I don't know why you would have found
the Office Tools under PowerPoint.
