Equation Captioning

Hi there,
I'm trying to add a brackets to my equation captions? (e.g. Equation (1.1)),
Is there a way to automatically change all my captions to that format? I
tried to modify the caption when inserting it but it doesn't allow me to
change anything before the caption number!!

I can change it manually but I need the brackets to appear in the text when
I'm corss-referencing any equation.

Thanks in Advance

I don't think there's a fully automated solution for this problem (not
out-of-the-box, at least).

I would probably insert the brackets manually both around the SEQ field
that makes the caption number, and around the cross-reference. But then
again, I would leave away the "Equation" text itself, and number only
with "(1)".

Fajhan, this is something that MathType can do automatically for
both the equation number and the reference. If you add or remove
an equation number, it's easy to update the entire document. You
can format the numbers & references just about any way you want,
including the way you specify. For more information about
