epson stylus c86

hi. i've recently purchased an epson stylus c86 printer. i'm running
windows xp home edition. i have installed the printer in the normal fashion
with the printer's accompanying software. however, it doesn't work. i have
downloaded the recent drivers from epson's website and installed them. still
nothing. i have followed the trail back to find that my computer is not
recognizing the print spooler. can anyone help? any advice would be greatly
appreciated! thanks.

Does the printer work on a different computer?

thanks very much for responding! however, i tried that. another error
message pops up saying...could not start the print spooler service on local
computer. error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start. can
you make any other suggestions? thanks again for your help.

unfortunately i don't have another one to hook it up to.

Knowing Epson, it probably only works on a Tuesday afternoon when the moon
is full.!!

I will never by another Epson ink jet, they clog and get totally confused
very easily.
