Epson R300 CIS black ink clogs

On my Epson Photo R300 I installed a CIS, and the blank ink head gets
clogged very easily. (If I print CDs, it will print one CD fine, then
the next CD will have no blank ink by the bottom half)

It only takes one or two head cleaning cycles to flush it out, but I
was wondering if there was a better way to o things, even if that means
taking a dremel to the tank that holds the cartridges.

I firmly believe the blank ink cartridge stops printing because the
tube running to the blank ink is pressed against some plastic. I
wrapped some paper around the tubes to give them some rigid-ness, but
that only helps when printing over a normal page. When I print only on
the left side of the printer (i.e. CDs) then the black ink stops
flowing.

Wish I had an answer to help you, but
try directing your query to the company you purchased your CIS. Chances are
they have some productive information that will help.

Now that's strange, as I have just changed my third party ink supplier for
my R300 and have found that nearly every time the printer is used I have a
slightly blocked black, so perhaps it's the ink and not the CIS that's the
problem.

That is a true statement the you no longer have the same relabeler but
you do not know if you have the same exact ink as you were previous
using because many relabelers buy ink from the same mfg/formulator and
the relabeler will not tell you. But yes you are certainly having a
generic ink problem.
