Epson "perfection 4990 photo" I need some parts, new *or* used, oryour 'stone DEAD' Scanner...

I have an epson "perfection 4990 photo" flatbed scanner bought used, and
need some common parts.

unfortunately, this scanners documents don't provide part numbers, and
Epson's site, along with the three distributors Epson's site 'links to',
are useless for getting part -numbers- OR the parts themselves. a google
search for 'parts epson scanner' with and withOUT the model number of
the scanner is equally UNproductive. sheesh, it's like "top secret info"
where ya van REALLY get parts for thing :-(

need three "real simple" parts:

1. the 'refelctive document mat' that slides into the lid (probably
white vinyl over thin foam)

2. the 'film holder' (probably black plastic, holds 35mm film strips)

- and -

3. the 'slides holder' (to hold 35mm mounted slides)

I'd sure be appreciative if anyone here can provide me either the part
-numbers- for these three parts OR the parts themselves, new *or*
used...alternately, I'll buy your -entire- "blown up" or DEAD epson 4990
to -procure- the parts I need...

depressing. at this point, I'd be interested in any offerings of the
parts above, especially the film and slides holder, wether or NOT they
"came from" Epson-made scanners...new OR USED...

thanks,

toolie

2. the 'film holder' (probably black plastic, holds 35mm film strips)
HERE:631204
- and -

3. the 'slides holder' (to hold 35mm mounted slides)

I have an epson "perfection 4990 photo" flatbed scanner bought used, and
need some common parts.

Two avenues for parts nos, discovery => procurement, serial journey.
1st join Yahoo Groups Epson ProSumer Scanner section, look to files' pdf
on exploded parts.
2nd call or webmail VanceBaldwin.com, 800.964.2237, Pompano Beach FL,
order fulfillment.
was this solution viable? reply expected
Regards,
Theo

Dave try one to these places. They are in the business of supplying parts
for some Epson printers and maybe scanners.

Try this website for Epson Perfection 4990 parts:
compassmicro.com

It has a list of part numbers, description and prices. This could be of help to you.
