Epson C84 cyan banding problem

A

Adrian Brentnall

Hi All
I'm having a small problem with my Epson C84. One of the cyan nozzles
seems to be blocked - reulting in thin horizontal magenta 'stripes'
across solid 'blue sky' areas in printed photos.

I've gone through the 'print nozzle check / run cleaning cycle' thing
three times so far - and, although there was some improvement at
first, on the last attempt there was no improvement.

What's the next step....?

Possibly related problem - from time to time I also get a cyan 'trace'
on the margin of the paper - looks as though the underside of the
print carriage has some cyan on it (??) - but I can't see how to get
'underneath' the head assembly to attempt to clean it.

Would be very grateful for any helpful suggestions - just printed some
photos on glossy paper and they're great - except for the bits where
there's the magenta stripe on the blue sky - which really ruins
things!

Many thanks in advance
Adrian

Drop an email to Arthur Entlich at (e-mail address removed) and ask him to
send you his Epson printhead cleaning manual. No charge. Paste in your
original post as well as he may be able to help you with the problem. I
followed his manual and saved an epson printer from the junk pile.
