Epson as a company - nice warranty!!!

Bob

I've posted in other thread about my clog problems with my under
warranty C86. I got back on the phone with Epson yesterday and told
them it would not unclog.

I was expecting to have to argue about cross shipping a new unit,
charging to a CCard until mine was returned, getting something
refurbished, having to wait until mine was fixed, and generally
arguing and screaming at supervisors and threatening an Internet
campaign against them (sorry, I've have recent experience with Toshiba
that has tainted me)... well, I was wrong.

They are shipping me a new C88 without requiring a return of my old
unit. I could not ask for a better warranty.

Bob (who will print regularly on this one now that he knows to).

Heh... yeah I had that too... twice as it goes.. I don't send stuff back
anymore as they're all out of warranty but I have to say they were
pretty good to me as well when I had problems here in the UK.

Turns out the problem was due to the CIS tubing pushing out a connector
wire strip but they never balked or demanded money when the examined it.

Course, I feel dirty saying nice things about Epson ;) but hey... credit
where due..

You will find different experiences depending upon the Epson office you
are working with. Epson on some countries is pretty accommodating, but
not in all.

Well, new printer arrived on schedule. No complaints so far, but I
plan to try to keep this one flowing.

We've been using C88's as our "workhorse' printers for a few months now
without any problems at all.
Of course after the way overpriced oem carts ran out we were ready with
excellent quality after market carts at about one third the cost of oem's.
You just gotta love it!

My ip5000 I got last June/July it never ever clogged yet or wanted a
manual clean, the two Epsons C62 I had, one clogged on the 2nd day
and the other clogged on the 4th day and with Epson ink.

The second time around I thought of the amount of ink I was wasting
with having to flush and switched to Jet-Tec and still had problems.

Trouble is people say it's a trait of the C series, judging from post
in this NG and others it's just a big a problem with the R series,
whether its the ink formulation or the delivery system, I just gotta
say the delivery system, the vibration of the nozzles being the only
active force compared to the 'bubblejet'.
