I have an Epson Perfection 636 that is a SCSI scanner. It is several
years old. It works with MS Windows 2000 and the Epson Twain driver.

I still have the original disk, but it only has the SCSI drivers on it I
believe.

CrHoff:
If you can not make it work with the drivers from the web site you
will not get it working from the CD your problem is elsewhere. How is
it connected? USB or SCSi? Windows or Mac? How is it listed in Device
Manager/System Profiler? Are you using plug and play in Windows or
just trying to run a Set-up (won't work)?

Franck Hann:
The scanner drivers are the same for SCSi or USB in Windows, they are
not interface dependant.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the help, got it working. Used Win plug & play. The
instructions for Win 98 say not to do it that way, but to cancel new
hardware wizzard and install from CD. Since I didn't have the CD I tried to
install directly with the .inf file which wouldn't work. As soon as I went
back to the hardware wizzard and selected the .inf file then everything
installed fine. Thanks for the help

Hi, I reinstalled my scanner drivers during a recent update and its installs
ok but I lost the link between Microsoft Document Imaging program and Twain
I get an error that there is hardware scanner error. I fixed this years ago,
some variable is wrong in some file but I can't find it, can someone help?
