Epson 1270 print head capping

E

Ed Ruf

Ok, I did a dumb thing and while trying to soak up ink from the foam pad
used to cap the head on my Epson 1270 I knocked it loose. I thought I got
it back in place, but apparently not, as if I leave the printer off for a
period of time the head clogs. At this point only soaking the pad in windex
helps. Does anyone have photos of the pad with the top case of the printer
removed I can use to help diagnose the problem with the mechanism? Or
possibly fought this same problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If it moves around, most likely it is broken. The capping station on most of
the Epson models has some pretty fragile plastic bits. You may have to buy a
new capping station. Check the Epson website for parts suppliers, several
like NPD and Vance Baldwin have online ordering.
