Epson 1250 scanner

Reloaded xp with service pack 1

Tried to load epson twain driver 5.5? for epson 1250
scanner. Install fails with eror

0x80040707
dll function call crashed escancx.Remove.INF

The scanner worked fine on the earlier install of windows
xp although it was installed befor I added SP1 last time

Any ideas

Its sounding like the Epson drivers are stepping on top of each other.

I recommend you:
1. disconnect the device from the computer
2. reboot your computer and then make sure Epson programs are not running
when
you start-up (check Task Manager)
2. uninstall any software that applied to the Epson scanner
3. reboot
4. once you've logged in, then follow Epson's instruction for installing the
TWAIN driver (for instance some vendors want you to install their software
only BEFORE you plug in the device to your computer).
