eps files and Windows XP

I am working on a Windows XP Pro system running Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW. When ever I create an eps or wmf file with these programs and try to import it to MS Office or other programs, the files will not open. Yet when I create the eps or wmf files in the same Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW programs running on a Windows 98 or Windows NT platform, no problems. The eps and wmf files open in all the MS Office and other programs

I have issolated the problem to eps and wmf files that are created on the Windows XP platform

What has Microsoft done to XP to invaladate graphic standard formats of eps and wmf

This is a huge issue, now I know why my firends choose the Mac.

I just made a wmf in CorelDraw 9. Easily imported it into Word 2000, on an
XP Pro (SP1) system.

Doesn't look to be a strictly XP problem.

What versions of the programs (all ot them) are you using? Are the graphics
particularly large?

My previous reply did not show up... so here goes again.

I am using CorelDraw 11, but ut previously had the same problem with CorelDraw 9... the problem began when upgrading to XP. I am using Illustrator 10 but had the same problem with Illustrator 8, and the problem remains when I save in older versions of Illistrator, 7, 6, 4. I am running on Win XP version 5.1.2600

Any suggestions would be great.

Glad to know someone is able to create eps on XP that don't have this problem.
