I know there's away to do this - but I just can't put my finger on it!
Could someone please direct me to the tweak that will enable me to set WinXP
to run all applications in their own separate environments? Thanks.

What exactly do you mean? How are the applications now running in the
"same environment"? All applications have their own private space and
other than a couple of shared system processes or shared dll's they
don't really share the same evironment.

I think he wants to set up environment values per program, eg extra
entries for PATH and such.

Unless the program is programmed to do this when it is started I think
he will have to use a script or batch file to set the variables and
launch his program, he will need a different script/batch file for each
program.

Thank you both very much for your interest and help. You were quite correct
in your interpretation of my query Erwin (I apologise for causing so much
confusion).
The final response from John John (many thanks for this) gives me the answer
I need. I'll move on from here with this info.
Once again, thanks a million.
